DDEC’s Success in Securing Grants for the City of West Palm Beach

At DDEC, our expertise in securing transportation grants has made a significant impact on the City of West Palm Beach. Over the past two years, we have successfully supported the City in obtaining substantial grant funding, resulting in the realization of crucial planning and construction projects. In total, DDEC has helped the City of West Palm Beach apply for over $19.2 million in grant funding, with a success rate of over 90%, enabling the implementation of various infrastructure projects that enhance safety, accessibility, and community connectivity.

One of our recent success stories is the Railroad Crossing Elimination (RCE) – Building BRIDGES project. In collaboration with the WPB CRA, the City of West Palm Beach pursued grant funding opportunities for the ACM RCE and RCP Grant Application. This project aimed to enhance safety along the FEC Railway while supporting mobility, housing, safety, and creative funding strategies. DDEC played a crucial role by preparing grant applications for the WPB SUN PATH planning study, which sought approximately $400,000 in funding to build bridges and restore community connectivity. Through extensive community engagement and careful evaluation of pedestrian bridges and project locations, DDEC’s support resulted in the successful awarding of the $400,000 grant in 2023.

Another remarkable achievement is the WPB on the RISE project, which represents a reapplication for the competitive Rebuilding of American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant. Working closely with the City of West Palm Beach, DDEC navigated the grant requirements and developed a comprehensive application aligned with sustainability, equity, and resilience goals. The project addresses the needs of disadvantaged communities, promotes environmental consciousness, and enhances pedestrian and cyclist safety. With our support, the City secured an impressive grant amount of $10,168,884 in 2022 for the WPB on the RISE project. This grant encompasses various aspects, including utilities, lighting, transit access, and neighborhood improvements, all aimed at enhancing safety and equity in transportation.

These grants secured by DDEC have had a transformative impact on the City of West Palm Beach. With additional funding, the City has been able to implement essential projects, resulting in improved transportation infrastructure, enhanced safety, and increased connectivity. We are proud to have played a crucial role in bolstering the City’s ability to serve its community and undertake substantial initiatives. At DDEC, we remain committed to leveraging our expertise in grant acquisition, ensuring that our clients have the necessary resources to bring their transportation visions to life. Together with the City of West Palm Beach, we will continue to pursue grants that foster sustainable, equitable, and resilient transportation solutions for the benefit of the community.
