DDEC is proud to have worked with the Town of Lake Park on the successful adoption of a Mobility Plan and Mobility Fee in early 2023. This forward-thinking plan represents a critical step towards creating a sustainable and comprehensive transportation system that meets the needs of all residents and visitors.
The Mobility Plan is a comprehensive strategy that integrates land use and transportation improvements to provide people with safe, comfortable, and convenient transportation options, including walking, biking, public transit, and new technology. It includes a range of improvements such as expanded and improved roads and intersections, as well as multimodal improvements like sidewalks, shared-use paths, crosswalks, and trails.
To fund the Mobility Plan, the Town of Lake Park has implemented Mobility Fees. These fees are a proportionate fee for development impacts on the transportation network and are collected from new development and redevelopment projects. The fees are used to fund the improvements specified in the Mobility Plan, providing the town with a new revenue source to build complete streets and expand access for all residents.
DDEC is proud to have played a role in developing and implementing the Mobility Plan and Mobility Fee for the Town of Lake Park. Our team worked closely with the town to ensure that the plan was forward-looking, progressive, and designed to meet the needs of all users.
