In March, the DDEC team had the privilege of participating in Florida Bike Month with the Palm Beach TPA and Broward MPO. As part of the celebration, the Palm Beach TPA organized a group ride to encourage and promote safe bicycling in the community.
The group ride was a great success, with many people, including TPA Board Member & Port of Palm Beach Commissioner Deandre Poole, Ph.D. and Commissioner Wayne M. Richards, joining in on the fun. Special thanks go to Brightline Trains’ BrightBikes for making it possible for everyone to participate!
The ride was an excellent opportunity to showcase the benefits of bicycling, including improved health, reduced traffic congestion, and reduced carbon emissions. It also provided a chance for the community to come together and enjoy a beautiful day in West Palm Beach while supporting sustainable transportation.
The DDEC team was delighted to participate in this important initiative and remains committed to promoting active transportation and sustainable transportation options. The Palm Beach TPA’s efforts to encourage safe bicycling align with DDEC’s core values, and they look forward to continuing to collaborate with the TPA and Broward MPO on similar initiatives.
Overall, Florida Bike Month was an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about the benefits of bicycling and encourage more people to embrace this sustainable transportation option. The DDEC team looks forward to participating in future events and initiatives that support active transportation and promote sustainable transportation options.
