Building a Better Lawrence Road Together
Last night, our DDEC team joined residents, City staff, and neighborhood associations at Citrus Cove Elementary for the Lawrence Road Renewal Public Workshop, a lively evening centered on reimagining one of Boynton Beach’s most traveled corridors.
The project, led by the City of Boynton Beach, aims to turn Lawrence Road into a more welcoming, sustainable, and colorful roadway between Gateway Boulevard and Hypoluxo Road. At the workshop, residents explored 3D renderings, reviewed landscape concepts, and took part in a hands-on “Pick Your Plant Palette” activity by using dot stickers to vote for their favorite palms, accent plants, and groundcovers.

What We Heard From You
The feedback was clear: residents want low-height. vibrant, and Florida-friendly lanscaping. Pink Muhly Grass and Dwarf Red Lxora emerged as local favorites, reflecting a shared desire for safe, beautiful medians that celebrate native color and community pride.

Hearing these perspectives firsthand reminds us why early public engagement matters. It helps shape designs that truly belong to the neighborhood they serve.
What Happens Next
Next, our team will work with the City to incorporate these ideas into the refined median landscape plan before presenting to the City Commission. At DDEC, we’re proud to help transform community input into meaningful design because every street tells a story, and this one is blooming beautifully.
