As we pedal closer to Florida Bicycle Month in March, DDEC, a Delray Beach-based traffic and transportation engineering firm, is helping small governments in Palm Beach County drive engagement for the month-long observance, with the goal of making this year’s Florida Bicycle Month the best yet! DDEC is proud to introduce FloridaBIcycleMonth.com, a resource to assist Palm Beach County municipalities in promoting Florida Bicycle Month PBC.
Created by traffic and transportation engineer and bikeability advocate Uyen Dang, P.E., FloridaBicycleMonth.com features information about the Florida Bicycle Month PBC observance and a toolkit containing social media posts, posters, web banners, a blog post, sample proclamation, and more! Municipalities can access the toolkit on the website. The toolkit provides easy access to promotional materials designed specifically for municipalities. The website also contains information about the observance, events, and bicycling routes and infrastructure.
Historically observed in March in Florida, Florida Bicycle Month recognizes the importance of bicycling in the lives of Florida residents and visitors. Promoted by DDEC, the Florida Bicycle Month PBC observance celebrates bicycling as a popular form of recreation and transportation choice, increasing access to employment through economical means, reducing traffic congestion and emissions, and promoting healthy lifestyles, a vibrant economy, and enhanced quality of life. Everyone is encouraged to get out and ride a bike!
